Wyoming State Loan Programs
Down Payment Loan Program
First-time homebuyers with financial need may qualify to receive help with their down payment and closing costs if they can come up with some of the money themselves. Assistance of up to $10,000 is available in the form of a second mortgage. The initial investment must be the greater of $1,500 or 2 percent of the first mortgage. The second loan terms vary according to income, and include a minimum payment of $25.00.
Foreclosure Prevention Counselors
We are approved by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide counseling, education and advice in housing issues to new and existing homeowners.
HOME Run Program
Through this program, first-time homebuyers may qualify for a subsidized interest rate on the purchase of a newly-built home that costs under $160,000. HOME Run is meant to help both the homebuyer and those who are interested in building affordable, well-built housing.
Homebuyer Assistance Program
This program offers low-income homebuyers the chance to secure a 30-year deferred loan to offset the up-front costs of obtaining a first mortgage. Homebuyers must contribute a minimum of $500 out of their own pocket, but afterward may receive a deferred loan for up to $2,000 at 3 percent. The second loan only becomes due when the house is sold, refinanced, transferred, or no longer used as the borrower's primary residence.
Mortgage Revenue Bond Program
This program is designed for first-time Wyoming homebuyers who need a below-market interest rate on their first mortgage. Assistance may also be available for the up-front costs of purchasing the home. Income and purchase price limits apply.
Spirit of Wyoming Homeownership Initiative
This program provides mortgage assistance for homebuyers who are employed in certain occupations which are critical to the community. The hope is that more people will be inspired to train for and stay in those occupations.
Spruce Up Wyoming Program
Financing assistance may be available to those who wish to purchase or rehabilitate homes in substandard condition. The program was developed to raise the general standard of housing in Wyoming.
