New York State Loan Programs
Access to Home Program
Working with local governments and non-profit organizations, this program provides assistance to homeowners who need to increase accessibility to their home for a disabled family member. Income limits apply, with a greater income ceiling for veterans. The maximum loan amount is $25,000 with zero interest terms and a provision for forgiveness after five years of residence in the home.
Farmworker Housing Program
No-interest loans are available to farmers who need to build or repair housing for seasonal or year-round farmworkers. Up to $100,000 per year may be loaned for up to 10 years, with fixed annual payments on the principal.
Foreclosure Prevention Counselors
We are approved by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide counseling, education and advice in housing issues to new and existing homeowners.
Greater Catskills Flood Remediation Program
This unique program enables qualified homeowners who reside in certain counties to move away from the flood zone. Funding has been made available to purchase the homes and condemn the property for future residential use, while providing homeowners with the cash to move to a less dangerous area.
Homes for Working Families (HWF)
The HWF program provides financing to developers who wish to provide affordable housing for senior citizens and families with low income. Loans will be made with a 30-year term and 1 percent interest.
HouseNY
The HouseNY program offers no-interest loans to communities which would like to help developers build affordable housing in their area. The Division of Housing and Community Renewal will give these properties first priority on development loans.
Housing Development Fund (HDF)
This program offers either a revolving loan or short-term financing to non-profit agencies which need assistance with certain costs of developing low-income housing.
Housing Trust Fund Program (HTF)
This program is available to non-profit organizations, for-profit developers, and government entities which intend to either build new housing developments, rehabilitate existing residential developments, or convert non-residential property into suitable housing for low-income occupants.
Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)
This program gives emergency assistance to qualified homeowners of either single-family or multi-family units in the interest of energy-efficiency and basic safety. All income-eligible homeowners may apply, but preference will be given to the disabled, the elderly, and those with small children.
